Welcome to the Desert Archaeology blog.
CRM (cultural resources management) archaeology ensures that our collective history and heritage are documented, preserved, and curated as required by federal, state, and local historic preservation regulations, while simultaneously allowing economic development projects to go forward. At Desert Archaeology, our mandate is not simply to record the past, but to contribute to our understanding of it through efficient research designs and innovative, cost-effective analysis methods.
We are happy to share what we learn with a broad audience, including professionals and the public. Check back here to find news about our work in progress, interesting analytical findings, publication announcements, and occasional in-depth writing about CRM issues in the greater U.S. Southwest. Be sure to follow us on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter (buttons at the bottom of the page).
