Dr. Michael Diehl has over 12 years of experience in the application of macrobotanical analysis to studies of subsistence strategies, dietary and technological change, and social organization.

Recent publications by Dr. Diehl address the introduction of cultigens to the Southwest, change through time in subsistence strategies in the Tucson Basin and in the Mimbres area of southeastern New Mexico, behavioral-ecological approaches to prehistoric behavior, and expressions of ethnic identity in food consumption.
